Cowser named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year

Southern Utah senior defensive end James Cowser continued his stellar career with the biggest conference award available. As the Big Sky’s all-time tackle for loss and sack record holder, Cowser finished the season with  62 total tackles (29 solo), 17 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries with 100 return yards and  one touchdown,  three forced fumbles in 11 games for the Big Sky Conference champion Thunderbirds.
