Big Sky Conference Kickoff Coaches’ Series: Idaho State head coach Rob Phenicie

Skyline Sports Presents: 2017 Big Sky Conference Kickoff Coaches Series. All 13 coaches will be represented, continuing with Idaho State first-year head coach Rob Phenicie.

Phenicie carved out a successful niche in the Big Sky as the offensive coordinator at Cal State-Northridge in the late 1990s, then with a wildly successful run as Bobby Hauck’s OC at Montana from 2003 until 2009. The Grizzlies captured seven straight Big Sky titles, advanced to the FCS playoffs seven straight times and played in three national title games. Phenecie went with Hauck to UNLV to from 2010-2014 before joining Mike Kramer’s staff at Idaho State in 2015. He takes over his first head coaching job for Kramer, who was not retained after posting an 18-50 record in six seasons at ISU.
