BIG SKY CONFERENCE MEDIA RELATIONS
OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced the 2017-2018 women’s basketball conference schedule on Friday. The conference will implement an 18-game conference schedule for each women’s basketball program. The Road to Reno will begin on December 28 as the Big Sky Conference women’s basketball schedule tips off.
This year’s conference slate of games will be played on a Thursday–Saturday schedule as doubleheaders during the 2017-18 season. Travel partners will be utilized, with each travel pair playing identical opponents during doubleheaders. The one exception to the Thursday–Saturday format is a Wednesday–Friday schedule, taking place on February 28 and March 2, during the 10th and final week of conference play.
The use of this model for two-game road trips will maximize rest, minimize travel times and limit missed class time for women’s basketball student-athletes during the conference portion of the season. Travel partners will face each other twice during the regular season in a home-and-home format.
Tip times for conference games will be announced by each institution at a later date.
The Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev., will host the Big Sky Conference Women’s Basketball Championship March 5, 7, 9-10 for the third-consecutive year.
