on

One of the most versatile players in the Big Sky Conference is moving back down under.

On Monday night, Josh Bannan announced on his personal twitter page that he will forego his final year at the University of Montana to pursue professional aspirations in his home country of Australia.

The first-team All-Big Sky selection who hails from Melbourne has been a starter and standout for the Griz for the last three seasons.  Bannan ends his Griz career with 1,191 points, the 19th most in UM history.  He also nabbed 694 rebounds, just outside the top 10 in UM history. He averaged 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, including 15.1 points and 8.2 rebounds last season in helping Montana to 17 wins.

Bannan is the second departure from Montana since the season ended. Lonnell Martin Jr, a starting wing, is also into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
