Montana State guard Tyler Hall earned the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week award after leading the Bobcats to two straight overtime wins at home last week.
Hall, a sophomore from Rock Island, Ill., led MSU to wins over Idaho and Eastern Washington, both of which were ahead of the ‘Cats in the Big Sky standings. Hall scored 50 in the two games, with six rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
In Thursday’s 94-92 double-overtime win, the sophomore scored 31 points on 7-of-19 shooting including 5-of-12 from behind the arc. He also went 12-of-16 at the free-throw line including crucial fouls shots in the second overtime period.
On Saturday, Hall scored 19 points to lead the Bobcats to a 91-90 overtime win over Eastern Washington. Hall hit a layup to put the Cats up by three with less than two minutes remaining in regulation against EWU. He hit a three-pointer early in overtime to help MSU establish a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. His 3-ball was MSU’s only field goal in the overtime period.
Hall leads MSU and the Big Sky Conference in scoring at 23.3 points per game. He also ranks second in the conference in 3-point field goals made with 84 (3.7 per game).
MSU currently sits at No. 4 in the Big Sky standings with a 6-4 conference mark. The Bobcats will have a chance to put some distance between themselves and rival, Montana, as they travel to face the Grizzlies on Saturday in Missoula, Mont.
