No. 4 Montana State opened Big Sky Conference play at No.15 Eastern Washington on September 24, 2022.

MSU sophomore QB Tommy Mellott got knocked of the game early on, sparking a 24-7 Montana State run.

But the Bobcats needed a Sebastian Valdez forced fumble and a Sean Chambers 13-yard touchdown run in the last three minutes to post a 38-35 victory.

Following the game, Montana State head coach Brent Vigen, senior safety Ty Okada, junior quarterback Sean Chambers and senior fullback RJ Fitzgerald addressed the media.
