THE REPLACEMENT

Nolan Ulm

Ulm is known around the league, with 29 catches for 396 yards and four touchdowns last season. His 87-yard touchdown catch against Idaho was the longest play from scrimmage in the conference all season. But he’s got another 400 yards to go to replace Roberson’s production and form a typically formidable EWU receiver duo with Efton Chism III, who was first-team preseason all-conference. Ulm’s got an interesting background – he was maybe the top high school receiver in Canada coming out of Kelowna in British Columbia, and good enough to get a 3-star rating from 247Sports. So much of wide receiver production is determined by quarterback play, but if redshirt sophomore Kekoa Visperas – who the coaching staff is very high on – can fulfill the hype, Ulm is in line to replace Roberson as an all-conference caliber receiver.
