DAVID SHAW – defensive tackle – Maryland
The Numbers: Shaw appeared in 11 games during his true freshman and sophomore seasons at Maryland, making five starts before he was sidelined with an elbow injury in 2015. He was granted a medical redshirt played in six games of the 2016 season. He posted 10 tackles, one for loss in his 10 two seasons on the field for Maryland.
Accolades: During his senior season at Spring Grove (Penn.) High, Shaw was named first team All-YAIAA after totaling 54 tackles. He also earned All-YAIAA honors during his junior season. Shaw was named to Team Pennsylvania for the 2014 Big 33 Football Classic and was rated a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and Scout.
Defensive coordinator Jason Semore on David Shaw: “He’s going to add a lot of depth and competition to our interior D-line. He’s a big, strong guy, and that’s the best way to put it. He has a fast motor, and is going to be a special player at this level.”
