MONTANA GRIZZLIES

MICHAEL MCGINNIS, – Wide receiver – Sidney High School – Sidney, Montana

The Numbers: The 6-foot-3, 185-pound defensive back from Sidney was the first player to commit to Montana back in late June. He came to Montana’s camp hoping to impress coaches, who had seen little of McGinnis in action thanks to Sidney’s run-oriented offense. After earning a partial scholarship offer following summer camp, McGinnis committed.

Accolades: McGinnis was a Class A first-team all-state safety as a senior. McGinnis finished second in the 100 meters, third in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump at the Class A state meet in May 2015.

Film: Michael McGinnis highlights

Coach Mike Ferriter on Michael McGinnis: “Michael is a phenomenal athlete in multiple sports. We had him in camp this summer. He’s a raw, big, long, fast athlete who is going to come in and be really, really special in the future.

Story on McGinnis’ commitment: Summer camp helps Griz find Sidney athlete

Michael McGinnis on Montana: “It was a dream come true when they offered me because I’ve been a Griz fan my whole life and I didn’t really think it was really in my grasp this summer. Then when they called and gave me the opportunity, I was extremely excited.”
