BIG SKY CONFERENCE PRESS RELEASE
Weber State senior guard Jeremy Senglin and Northern Colorado sophomore point guard Savannah Scott are this week’s Big Sky Conference men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Senglin, earned this week’s Big Sky Conference men’s basketball honor after leading the Wildcats to a 93-85 win over in-state rival, Utah Valley on Saturday.
Senglin, a native of Arlington, Texas, had a stellar performance in his 100th career start for WSU. The senior scored a game-high 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. He also knocked down 6-of-9 from behind the arc.
Saturday marked the fourth time this season that Senglin made six 3-pointers in a game. He currently ranks fifth in the Big Sky in scoring (18.7 ppg) and fifth in the nation in 3-pointers per game at 4.0. He also ranks second in Weber State history in career 3-pointers and seventh in scoring.
Weber State (4-6) returns to action tomorrow at Utah State in for its final non-conference game of the season. The Wildcats open Big Sky Conference play on December 29 at Montana State.

The Northern Colorado Bears ended its non-conference with an 8-3 record with Big Sky Conference play beginning next week.
The Bears won’t play again till December 29, when they host Sacramento State in the conference opener. However, UNC finished off a three-game stretch this past week with a 2-1 record, earning a road win over a West Coast Conference opponent.
Scott had a lot to say about the week for UNC, on her way to earning Big Sky women’s basketball Player of the Week honors. This is the second time this season a Northern Colorado player has won the conference’s player of the week award.
Scott averaged 20.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists over three games last week, including two road games. In those games, she made seven 3-point shots and shot 60.6 percent from the floor.
In the three-game stretch, Scott led the team in scoring twice, and scored 20 or more points twice. Against Saint Mary’s, she had a career-high 27 points, on 9-of-15 shooting. She followed it up with another 22 points at Pacific, including an 8-0 run of her own to put the Bears in the lead, on the way to a 60-56 win.
