In the first semifinal of the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball tournament, fifth-seeded Montana State pulled off an upset of No. 1 Southern Utah 80-77 in overtime. The win helps MSU advance to the Big Sky Tournament championship for the first time in 12 years.
MSU senior Amin Adamu poured in 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds while junior Jubrile Belo had 22 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks while also hitting a buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime.
Following the game, MSU head coach Danny Sprinkle, Belo and Adamu along with Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon along with seniors Maizen Fausett (left) and John Knight III addressed the media.
