WATCH – Montana State AD Leon Costello on donor support, NIL, coach retention & staying on top

Montana State Director of Athletics Leon Costello sat down with Colter Nuanez on the state of Bobcat athletics. Costello talks about the growth of Montana State’s scholarship gala and why scholarship support is still the bedrock of everything the department does, educating fans on NIL and the Bobcat Collective, and how student-athletes giving back in the community has strengthened the program’s reputation.

Costello also explains why “we know we’re not there” when it comes to facilities, roster size and the fan experience, how the department works with Brent Vigen and every head coach on retention, the progress on the next master plan and his outlook on a Parents Weekend battle for first place with Weber State. The interview was recorded on game day, before Montana State’s 38-33 win over the Wildcats.
