Junior forward Joe Mvuezolo, Jr., has been cleared to return to the Montana State men’s basketball team, Bobcat Athletics announced Monday.

After missing six games due to a cardiology issue, a team of nationally-renowned cardiology specialists determined Mvuezolo Jr. is able to return to the basketball floor immediately. He is scheduled to practice on Monday.

“Our top priority from the beginning has been Joe’s health and well-being,” said MSU coach Brian Fish. “Based on the information gained after Joe was evaluated by experienced and highly-regarded cardiologists our medical staff is in agreement that Joe is able to safely return. We’re glad to have Joe back on the floor, but happiest for the confirmation that his health is good.”

Mvuezolo Jr. played in MSU’s first 11 games, averaging 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds a game. He averages 18 minutes a game.
