MSU women win season opener in Seattle

At Key Arena in Seattle, Montana State put four players in double figures and notched 19 assists on 28 made field goals as the Bobcat women raced to a 80-51 win over Seattle University to open the 2015-16 season.

Senior center Jasmine Hommes scored 18 points on 9-of-21 shooting. She grabbed seven rebounds to help MSU to a 51-36 advantage on the glass. Junior forward Riley Nordgaard scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in her first start as a Bobcat. Junior Peyton Ferris, last season’s Big Sky Top Reserve, scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Delany Junkermier scored 11 points off the bench.

Senior Lindsay Stockton led a Bobcat defense that notched 13 steals and forced 22 turnovers. Stockton also dished out a team-high six assists.
