MONTANA STATE BOBCATS

KEATON ANDERSON: safety – Billings Senior High – Billings, Montana

The Numbers: The 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety from Billings is considered one of Montana’s top prep prospects. He snared six interceptions his final season, averaging 30 yards per return for the state champion Broncs. Although stats are inconsistent, Anderson scored four offensive touchdowns, including taking a reverse 56 yards for a touchdown against Missoula Big Sky. In that same game, he returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown.

Accolades: The smooth, athletic Anderson — he also is a standout in track — garnered interest from Montana, North Dakota and Northern Colorado. He is a two-time first-team all-state selection who was the 2016 Class AA Defensive MVP. The honor roll is the two-time state runner-up in long jump and high jump.

Academics: Business

Anderson on Montana State: “To be honest, Coach Choate was the main reason I wanted to commit. I knew as soon as I met him, I could talk to him, have conversations with him and I really meshed with him. I really meshed with all the coaches. They are really good dudes and I really want to play for Choate. He was one of those guys that was so straight forward with me. He reminds me a lot of my high school coach (Chris Murdock) and it made me want to be a part of Montana State.”

Film: Keaton Anderson Highlights

Coach Choate on Anderson: “The AA Defensive Player of the Year in the state of Montana who helped Billings Senior win its first state championship since 1979, Keaton consistently jumped out one of the more productive players on tape. He had some of the best tape coming out of his junior year. He’s a very good track athlete, has excellent speed, and I think he’s a guy who can play both corner and safety at this level. He’s a tough, smart, productive player.”
