MONTANA GRIZZLIES

TANNER WILSON – quarterback – Polson High School – Polson, Montana

The Numbers: A 6-foot-2, 190-pound playmaker, Wilson came to Montana’s summer camp in the hopes that he would impress the staff enough for a scholarship offer. It wasn’t long before he had Bob Stitt intrigued by his accuracy and athleticism. A few months later, Wilson was wreaking havoc on Northwestern A defenses: he finished his senior year with 1,677 yards passing and 20 touchdowns, while rushing for 979 more yards and 17 scores.

Accolades: The second half of the Polson duo coming to Montana this fall — Matthew Rensvold being the other — Wilson was honored as the Northwestern A Offensive Player of the Year. Wilson was also a first-team all-state selection and was first-team all-conference at quarterback and safety.

Film: Tanner Wilson Highlights

Coach Andrew Selle on Tanner Wilson: “Tanner is a tremendous athlete, he actually played both ways — quarterback and safety — in high school. He’s a three-sport athlete. He can really sling the ball and really understands the game. He’s a coach’s kid and grew up around the game his entire life.”

Story on Wilson, Rensvold commitments to Montana – Polson duo first Pirates to commit to Griz since ’88

Tanner Wilson on Montana: “It’s really an honor. That first day I committed, I had so many people super excited about it and I’m super excited about it. It’s such a cool opportunity. I always dreamed of doing it, going and playing for the Griz, Division I football but I was kind of unsure if I was good enough. I kept work, kept throwing the ball and it’s paid off.”
