Bobcats earn road sweep despite sporadic shooting, await UNC

BOZEMAN — Montana State scorched the nets in Cedar City. At 7,000 feet above sea level in Flagstaff, the Bobcats went cold.

For the first time in the Brian Fish era, MSU’s men’s basketball team completed a road sweep despite enduring a dismal shooting performance Saturday night at Northern Arizona. Despite shooting just 30 percent and seeing its starting backcourt of junior Tyler Hall and sophomore Harald Frey finish 2-of-18 from beyond the arc, Montana State gutted out an overtime win over Northern Arizona.

The extra time victory came less than 48 hours after MSU put up 104 points in a five-point win at Southern Utah. The gritty effort also gave the Bobcats its first road sweep to open Big Sky Conference play since the 2004-2005 season.
