RYAN DAVIS- Linebacker – Billings Skyview High School – Billings, Montana

The Numbers: The 6-foot-2, 220-pound middle linebacker caught seven passes for 99 yards as a tight end, where he earned second-team all-state honors. Defensive statistics were not available from Skyview’s 1-9 season.

The Accolades: Davis, the younger brother of former MSU offensive tackle Leo Davis and former men’s basketball forward Stephen Davis, earned Class AA first-team all-state honors at middle linebacker his senior year. He was voted the Most Inspirational on the Skyview football team two years in a row and played on the Falcons’ basketball team that won last spring’s state title. He will start at linebacker at MSU but could move to Buck defensive end or tight end.

Academics: Chemical or mechanical engineering

Davis on Montana State: “What they are building up there is something unbelievable. You can’t build a skyscraper without a foundation. I believe they have their foundation started and it’s only up from here. I really believe in what coach Choate is doing. I really believe in what all the coaches are doing. I haven’t heard one bad thing about a coach on that staff. I really want to be a part of what they are building up there.”

Film: Ryan Davis Highlights

Coach Choate on Davis: “We identified Ryan all the way back at our Junior Day last spring and followed him very closely. He played both linebacker and tight end so he has position versatility. I think his best football is in front of him, and I’m’ excited about him continuing the legacy his mom and dad started years ago of being great members of our campus community.”
